
Both Odyssey and Origins are on sale currently, so it really is a choice between ancient Egypt and ancient Rome. The start of Assassin’s Creed’s reinvention of their gameplay mechanics, leaning more towards an action-RPG gameplay loop instead of the series’ staple stealth gameplay. While this was one of the first games to be an Epic Games Store exclusive, which attracted a lot of controversy upon release, it does not run from the fact that Metro Exodus is an excellent first-person shooter. The third installment of the Metro franchise tamps up the nuclear post-apocalyptic stylings that the series is known for, and is definitely something you don’t want to miss out on if you played the first two games. While the Shenmue formula of open-world exploration and martial arts combat has since been reiterated upon with games like Sleeping Dogs and the Yakuza game, Shenmue III is very much a sequel to the Dreamcasts originals, so it may not come off as a little dated for those who have never played the originals. The long-awaited third entry to this seminal Dreamcast game was a long time coming but it is definitely worth checking out if you played it when you were younger. While many fans swear that this game is best enjoyed in virtual reality, it is still a fun time when played on regular monitors.


Tetris Effects has you play the typical falling blocks mechanics with a psychedelic backdrop and art style that will have you T-spinning in outer space or even in the darkest depths of the ocean. If you’re sick of Tetris’ classic, blocky aesthetic, Tetris Effect offers a new look unlike any before. That said, The Crew 2 offers an incredible open-world experience and even lets you race around in boats and planes as well. The Crew 2 can definitely satiate two of those feelings, so we recommend playing this game with the fan blowing in your face. Like many of us in lockdown, you probably miss driving on open highways, music blasting, and the wind blowing through your hair. So if you want a dose of crude humour with your tactical RPGs, this is the game for you. Its sequel The Fractured But Whole puts the fourth graders of South Park in a massive battle between two superhero franchises a la Civil War and adds in more tactical mechanics to the battles system. The Stick of Truth was a great homage to JRPGs, the fantasy genre as a whole, and is literally a playable South Park episode.
